Lead Community Engagement Specialist (East Midlands)

We are seeking a resourceful, multilingual and inspirational Lead Community Engagement Specialist to oversee our team focusing on outreach, awareness and intelligence-gathering in the East Midlands region.

The successful candidate will have a key role in pioneering our programmes in Leicester and the surrounding area, working closely with partners, community service providers and most importantly with potential victims of human trafficking and modern slavery. The role requires someone able to build networks and relationships of trust.

You will lead a team of Community Engagement Specialists that is expected to grow quickly, so you will need to have experience of leading and managing teams, delivering presentations, working as part of multiple-agency teams, supporting vulnerable people and what it means to take a trauma-informed approach to this work.

This is an exciting and important new role that will truly transform lives for people trapped in exploitative and brutal conditions.

The role requires cultural knowledge of at-risk communities in the East Midlands region as well as fluency in English and Punjabi, Gujarati and/or Hindi.

Location: Leicester, UK. *Please note that with the current Covid 19 restrictions, there will be a requirement to initially work from home for office and administration activities. Office space and meeting facilities are available through partners.*

Full-time. This is a newly funded role for a minimum of 12 months. Additional funding will be sought but is not guaranteed.
