BBC Panorama to show Hope for Justice role in successful anti-slavery case

Leading BBC current affairs programme Panorama is dedicating an episode to the investigation into the gang responsible for the largest trafficking case in UK and possibly European history – and the role played by Hope for Justice and West Midlands Police in freeing their victims and eventually bringing the gang down.

The documentary makers interview a number of survivors of the gang, who bravely waived their right to lifelong anonymity to tell their stories and educate others about the grim reality of modern slavery. Some of these survivors have been supported by Hope for Justice in the months and years since their rescue, up to and beyond the court cases where they gave vital evidence against the traffickers.

It also features exclusive access to the police and legal team who we worked with over four years to ensure the gang members were brought to justice.

“The Hunt for Britain’s Slave Gangs” will be shown on BBC One at 9pm on Thursday, September 5th (10.30pm in Scotland), and subsequently available on iPlayer.
